Also looking for more information on the Mcdermod family ( spelling has been check ) for my G-G-G grandmother Mary Mcdermod born 1827 Belfast, Ant, Ireland, Married Daniel O'BRIEN Marriage 20 Dec 1850
Her father was Philip Mcdermod based on Record Type Civil Marriage
I have not had any luck finding details about her family other than fathers name was Philip.

Hello to all the McDermotts from all round the world. my Grandfather, Michael McDermott left Ireland, Ballysidore, County Sligo, when he was 19. He sailed on the Majestic and arrived on Ellis Island in Oct of 1900. He had less than $20 in his pocket, traveled to St. Louis to meet up with his brother John McDermott. Michael met Grandma Gertrude Ahren and had 3 children. Walter, Mary and my Dad, Edward McDermott. My Dad met and married Imogene DeMarcy and together had 8 children, Marcia, Mike, Maureen, Mary, Mark, Marilyn(me), Matt and Marty. This is a short history about my family and how we got here.

Before I ask for my info I would like to wish all a Happy Christmas and Happy New Year.
As a user of Ancesty.com I have come across a tree with regards the MacDermots of Lissaseeny.
The Book of Moylurg states that Brian of Lassaseeny who was married to Anne Gore died 1744/6(father was Hugh Chief of Shruffe/mother Elizabth,this part is right)
In the tree I came across it states Brian died 1903/? but was married to Anna Gore.
Can anyone try and let me know the tree of Brian from there side of matters.
My line is from Charles,Brians brother.

In the midst of my research on an ancestor Patrick Cunningham [O Cunnigan] of Calry, Sligo, Ireland I came across Andrew McDermot. Andrew McDermot was a fellow passanger on the outgoing Robert Taylor to Hudson's Bay. It was very interesting reading the material on the MacDermot Clan Association.
This has spurred me on to a further investigation of the other Irish on board the 'Robert Taylor'.
