3. The cottages.

The road towards the fair green at Easkey was bounded on its west side by a nearly continuous row of houses. These are among the last to survive. To the north, in Bellspark townland were Kilkenny's houses, remembered by Jim Moraghan (in Boyle Volume 2) with their open doors, flickering fires and Sacred Heart pictures and lamps.

Fairs. (from Tom Mullaney, Boyle Volume 1)

From 7 o'clock in the morning the first cattle would appear in the town, driven up towards the Green, and placed in good vantage points on both sides of the road where the high footpath made them appear bigger than they really were. Further up the Green, past the Church of Ireland, the sheep and calf greens stretched. On the left, beyond Kilkenny's houses, was the Bull Field. On the right, point 5 on the map, was the main Fair Green.
