20,000 people in town

If you are even considering coming to the Clan Picnic in Blaine,WA on June 7th and will like an overnight motel room better make your reservations soon. The Blaine Visitor Center is expecting 20,000 people in town that weekend for the Peace Arch Rededication Event on Sunday. In the US call 1-800-624-3555 ASAP or bring your tent!

Searching for any info.

I have very little knowledge of my McDermott past, hopefully someone here can help. Any suggestions are welcome.
My Father and my Grandfather(b.1910), both named Patrick, were born in Kentucky. My Great-grandfather was named Henry (184?-194?)and according to my father came to America from Ireland as a baby. All I know of him is he lived in Western Kentucky for at least the last half of his 98 years of life. His parents I have no knowledge of.

Is there something Irish or maybe just McDermott related to the Middle names of men? I'm only asking because my middle-name is Clement(I usually just use the C.). Does it have some meaning?

The Word is out there!

Our rain continues here in the Pacific North West but requirer no removal like snow! On a recent overcast day I saw the Picnic and Clan anouncement in print. The press release appeard in the first of many geneological newspapers! The Family Tree, February/March 1997 issue had an anoucement about the Clan event in June. What a delight to see our information out there. I expect four more genealogy organizations to run information in the up coming months. The June Picnic group are egar to welcome all MacDermots and have a fun family day.

Dr. Sam McDermott, M.C.

Thanks for the help so far.
I have discovered that Dr. Sam (an uncle of my late father) was awarded a M.C.(military cross) during WW1. He graduated from Dublin in 1914.
Any other links or help will be appreciated.

TIA, John
